Great Salt Lake

Saturday after we were done fishing I decided we needed to check off a Bucket List item so we went to the Great Salt Lake. How many of you have lived in Utah your whole life and have never actually floated in it?! It honestly amazes me how many people never actually visit the lake. So with that being said.... we went to Saltair and the kids heard all about the fires and flood and saw how it used to be, they were totally in awe! We made our journey across the stinky sand and they floated in the lake! They seriously thought it was the coolest thing ever! Who needs expensive fun right?! They walked out forever until they were getting too small to see, found brine shrimp and loved the fact that they were covered in salt! I was waiting for one of them to scream because they had a scratch but none of them ever did! So many memories of when my Dad would take us out there and we would play when I was growing up... I was proud to see my kids loving it just as much! The Simplicity of Life!

The old Saltair!

Yes there are kids standing in front of the building! The kids were sad that it's just used for concerts and there's no more water slides, roller coasters, etc out there.

Chasing the Nat's... the kids were in awe with how many there were!

Kids walking on a sand bar while Ben looks for bugs!

Ben showing the kids the "beauty" of the creatures in the Great Salt Lake!

Floating!

Coolest thing Ever!!!!

Hunter getting water up his nose! It burned! hahaha

After they made sure Grandma Cindy wasn't around to yell... they took off running to see just how far they could go! Eventually Mom made they come back! I can't run that fast anymore after them!

Enjoying the sun!
