Temple Square April 2012

Being the Pinterest lover that I am I found the cutest little scavenger hunt for the kids to do at Temple Square. The kids were honestly excited! (They loved the zoo scavenger hunt from a previous post!) So, last Saturday since it was a GORGEOUS day we packed up the car and headed down town. First stop the conference center...

The kids were digging the waterfall in front of the building... it was turned off last time we were there, for winter. It was fun to explain to them that the conference center is where General Conference was held that we watched a few weeks ago.. they actually remembered watching it and the fun games they got to play while it was on! ;) Love it!

Hiking to the top of the falls!

So our next stop was Temple Square... we headed into the main visitors center and looked at the exhibits. The kids were happy to see the Christ statue because they couldn't see it very well at Christmas time. I love their reactions and how reverent they get whenever they see it.

We went to the basement and they learned about loving everyone no matter how different they are. They learned that our church is all about service and about the prophets of old. It was very humbling to take these 4 and watch their eyes light up and hear them talk about the church and what they can do to be better and follow the lord. It seems like just yesterday we took them and they ran wild!

Stopping at one of the fountains to fill out their papers and "touch" the water!

The flowers are absolutely amazing right now at Temple Square! Hunter is the only one that picked one and made sure to pay tithing on Sunday to replace it! We're getting better!

The reflection pool!

It would've been a cute picture... but pulling faces because they had just ran through the sprinklers was better!Oh well... they're still cute!

So after Temple Square we headed across the street to.. drum roll please!.... City Creek Center!
Salt Lake's new big mall downtown. We ate food, walked around and saw all the cool little quirks they added in it; like cougar tracks and bridges. The kids thought it was so awesome that the roof opened and closed. They were bummed that they couldn't actually see it close.

We HAD to stop in at the Disney store! The kids thought that was pretty cool. Ryker has an obsession with Mickey Mouse.. we found one that was perfect for him! Maybe for his birthday!

Sitting on the bridge watching trax!

Simple things entertain!

Of course we had to play in the fountains and get wet! It was SO HOT!
Whatever will they do when it's 90 or 100?!

It was interesting to see Emery not want to get wet like the boys... she's usually the first. Her reasoning was that people were watching and she didn't want to mess up her hair! She's all girl, sometimes! ;)

Ryker was wasted by the time we left. He was a very good baby!

On the walk back to the car.. the kids found one more fountain! ;)
