October is the busiest time of year in the Frank Pease household!!!

I love October but it is one of our busiest months of the year for some reason, hence no time to actually post all the fun things we have been up to! I really wanted to download pictures since my sib's have been buggin' so here they are!

The first Friday in October we went to a corn maze with the Tennants; the kids had a blast running around lost for a few hours! They had maps and everyone got to lead the herd at some point, they figured out they could hide in the corn stalks and then jump out and scare people... no one told them though that it works better if they hid their glow sticks they were wearing!
Saturday we continued our family tradition of going Crawdad fishing at Strawberry Reservoir. We started this tradition when we were dating and it was our third year going! We grab some expensive Harmons (fresh) bacon, fishing string and then head up to the lake. We all get a string and bacon and then throw the lines in off the dock. A few hours later the kids have had a blast and we head to Heber to the Train restaurant! It's always a fun time of year to go because the Kokanee Salmon are changing red and we stop at the ranger station to check them out. The kids have Crawdad wars, have them hang off their clothes and then chase each other with them! We let them go as we catch them, because no one will eat them but they're sure fun to catch!

During the month of October we celebrate Aidan's Birthday on the 4th and Hunter's birthday on the 18th. I can't believe my little boys turned 5 this year! They have gotten so big! It amazes me that we have been having birthday's for them together since they were 2... they used to be so tiny! This year we went with the Star War theme and they were both in heaven! We celebrate their "real" birthdays on their actual days or day before depending on if they're at our house or not and then we have a Huge joint birthday (the one they look forward to) right in between their birthdays! For being 14 days apart and being step-brothers these 2 are twins and everyone says "your twins are so cute!" The boys have gotten to the point that they just say "Thanks, we're 5!"

Another tradition we stared after we got married is going on a trip for the kids' birthdays. Since we have 2 in October and 2 in January then we go on a trip during those months as part of their presents and to also just get away! This year we went to Moab for the little boy's birthdays and the the best part about it was that the Tennants came with us! All 7 kids were in heaven and had so much fun together! The first day Ben wanted to take the burb on Little lion's back.... me and the kids sat far out of the way while he got the urge out of him!The kids tried to bike Slick Rock, but that came to a quick end when Aidan ended up smashing into the sign, stirring up a wasp that ended up stinging Hunter! Let's just say they won't be riding slick rock again until they're older! I do have to give snaps to Emery though... she is awesome when it comes to riding and she was hitting all the hills and cruising around like it was nothing! I was very impressed! After Slick Rock we headed to Delicate Arch and made the 3 mile hike with the kids... it was all Indiana Jones play and they loved hiking back to the trucks in the dark!

On the second day of the trip we woke up and went on a hike called Hidden Valley... the Moab locals said it was an easy hike to see Indian Drawings.... ummm 4 hours later and we're guessing 6 miles later the kids were a bit tired, the adults were exhausted and we only saw a few Indian drawings! hahahaha It was a very good workout though and right after we headed to "mini Las Vegas" and hit the pool! Oh but not before we stopped at Hole in the Rock to walk through the gift shop and then walk right back out when we saw how much they charge for kids to walk through a rock house! We got a picture in front though so it counts in our book!

Our last day in Moab we packed up our hotel rooms and then headed for another short hike.. we checked out dinosaur tracks and Indian drawings basically on the side of the road! The hike was much nicer then the one the day before! We had a great time in Moab, thanks Tennants for making it even better by coming! Now we're getting ready for Halloween at our house and it will be a busy week with all the parades and parties! This year the kids are doing the Star Wars theme! I will have a Luke, Leia, Anikan, and Jedi cruising around on Halloween this year! Happy Halloween Ya'll!!!
