Ben has wanted to get the kids into repelling for a few years now and we finally figured that the kids were old enough to learn this year. Emery and Mason have been doing extra chores to raise money to buy their own harness. They accomplished their goal and heading to REI with dad where all the kids were fitted for a harness.
Ben couldn't wait too long to try out his new rope and the kids' harness so we headed up Big Cottonwood and started climbing. Unfortunately, Mom couldn't climb with them but we worked on the basics and started getting them in the mind frame of what they needed to be doing. We had a few scares with the fact they were up so high and they had nothing to hold onto but other then that they all did awesome and we're looking forward to more climbs this summer!
