Summer Bucket List #10

As school ended I sat down one afternoon and we made a list of all the things we wanted to do or see this summer. Some of the things are so simple like writing with chalk, others are learning about Utah and our community, some are playing and having fun, but all of them have the same thing in common... spending time together and making memories to last a life time! Cheesy I know but I always love to hear my kids talk about things we have done over the years and hear the unity, fun, and love we share for each other in our family!

So last weekend the kids really wanted to hang out with the Tennants, so we grabbed them and were going to play in the water and chill but instead Hunter suggested we head to Kennecott Copper Mine to check off #10 on our Summer Bucket List of Adventures! How can I argue with such a request?! I have taken the kids every year to the mine but this year it was like it finally clicked.... they were so interested in the actual facts and what they were learning I was impressed! They even requested to sit through the 18 minute video and didn't move a muscle during it! We bought Geo rocks to crack open when we got home and as we were leaving the shop they announced they were going to do an explosion... of course we HAD to check it out! I have never had the opportunity to witness blowing up the walls of the mine, it was totally impressive!

After the mine we headed back to the house where the kids had a water fight, jumped on the trampoline, played Star Wars and even got some action in playing Indiana Jones! Thanks Tennants for letting us steal your boys for a few hours!
