"I don't have time"- Hunter Pease

Before I get into my post for the day... I first need to wish Ben a Very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! We love you babe and hope that you had a great birthday!!!

Now onto the rest of the post!!....
When you are the mother of 4 children and all of them are in school then you take on the job of having A LOT of homework and of course class projects! Some projects you dread and wonder if the teacher is trying to punish the parent or the child... while other projects you get a wicked smile on your face, your competitive drive kicks in and when your child asks for a Valentine Box to take from "your" house.. it's Game On!!! When Mason and Aidan got dropped off to our house on Thursday night, the day before his class Valentine party, he asked if we could make a shoe box for him to take so he had one for our house and one for his other house. I'm not one that would deny such a request... but I'm a Sweet, Jeff is my Dad, Cindy is my mom, and with Scot, Elizabeth, Dallin and Adam as my siblings.. we don't know what your "regular Valentine box" looks like!!! So I made a few calls and had some supplies dropped off by Grandma Cindy and 2 1/2 hours later (dinner was made and served in that time also!) This is what we came out with!!!... It was awesome!!

Let's just say it was a crowd pleasure and I had a very happy and excited son! In fact all the kids had such a "blast" (no pun intended!) we have our ideas already rolling for next year's boxes!!

Since we are on the subject of Valentines Day.. I would like to share what I received the day before Valentines from the love of my life! Ben had it made through build a bear online which is pretty cool to use, and then he shipped it to our house! It made my day! I gave Ben a hard time when he left because we went and had very special bears made for all the kids and then Ben left each of them a special message, the kids adore their bears but in all our hurry with everything going on he forgot to get me a gift while he was away. So to my surprise the UPS man left a most wonderful gift from my Sweet heart thousands of miles away!

Boat Show anyone?! On the weekend of Valentines I didn't really have any plans with the kids because I knew most places would be packed with the holiday weekend. We have always ventured out to the boat show, but this year I just wasn't up to doing it by myself. Dallin was supposed to be cleaning his room on Saturday night and doing homework, however word got out that I wanted to go and that's when good ol' Dallin stepped in to fill the shoes! NEVER AGAIN!!!

Thankfully it was not very crowded, I'm sure Valentines had nothing to do with it! Every year the kids complain how boring it is but every year we walk through the doors and they go wild. This year was no exception! They wanted to climb in every boat.. they watched the fish and even raised their hands while the fishing guide was giving his presentation. We found the "home boats" and they begged for me to buy one, "we can just live on this mom and then you don't ever have to drive us to school." They each picked their favorite boats.... Mason loved the sparkle boats with the big engine in the back, Emery loved the black wake board boat with the loud speakers, Aidan fell in love with the yellow speed boat, and Hunter... well Hunter went goo goo eyed for the Camo steel fish boats! hahahaha

Besides checkin' out the nice boats that you will always dream of having but never actually own.. is Marine Products clearance of Reef flip flops! SCORE! All 4 kids walked away with new flip flops for summer! Grandma Cindy was too chicken to go with us so we met up with her after at Ihop for breakfast! Good times!! Can't wait for next years show!

We aren't hyped up or anything?!

Thanks Dallin for coming with us... too bad these are the only pictures that turned out and they're still pretty bad. Maybe it's just the kids in them?!

President's Day 2010

I had all 4 kids on Presidents Day from 8 AM till 2 PM and I really didn't want to sit around the house so we checked out Clark Planetarium. When I was online looking for different things to do for the day I saw that they had a new movie out called Attack of the Space Pirates and it was even in the Dome Theatre! Double Score! None of the kids had ever been to the Dome theatre and they love Pirates and movies where they fight! I kept it quiet from the kids until we were pulling in the underground parking and they all 4 started freaking out because they thought I was taking them shopping! Seriously where in my right mind would I take all 4 of them shopping in actual stores that isn't Walmart or Target? Once I told them what we were doing they all complained how bored they were going to be... that argument ended quickly when they saw the poster for the movie and the rest is history!...

Emery and Mason sitting in the Dome

Hunter and Aidan sitting inside of a "volleyball!"

They all loved the movie although they weren't able to use the lasers on the chairs so I had to promise that I would bring them back to a movie where they got to play with them. They couldn't believe how it felt like they were moving and all had neck aches after!
We walked around the museum and the exhibits after and tried some of the different experiments. Who said learning on a day off of school can't be fun?!

Checking out the digital earth

Walking on Mars!

Checkin' out the space shuttles! I even got told my Valentines box looked just like it, which they in return told everyone around them! Two points for mom!!

Well it's been a quick paced two weeks and there's no slowing down from here! It's getting warmer outside and the kids are chopping at the bit to get their trampoline put up! Soccer season is coming and I have them all talked into trying out tumbling classes for a few weeks and then we have our ski lessons for them coming up! School fits in there somewhere! Less then 8 weeks till Ben comes home and ya gotta love how little that number is! Emery had her 100th day of school on Friday and we are gearing up for report cards and parent teacher conferences! Between everything going on I am glad to say that Granite School District disability department decided to get it's act together and after a second round of testing placed Hunter into speech class.

Hunter started his classes 2 weeks ago and goes once a week to Mrs. Robyn and is continuing to go to his other preschool 2 days a week. Hunter has progressed so well since his surgeries two summers ago but his speech is very hard to understand unless you're his mom. The last few months though he has been getting very frustrated with himself and others trying to listen to him, we had him tested in the summer and they said he didn't have any problems at all. I wasn't okay being told that so we waited the 6 months and I had him retested.. funny how he only scored in the 60% this time, but he was perfect 6 months ago?!! I have nothing nice to say about it besides I'm glad he's in the program and that he's excited to learn and try. All of his siblings have been very supportive of him and very encouraging and hopefully we'll see some good come of it instead of making him wait till he entered kindergarten. Hunter's new thing when you ask him to do something.. "I don't have time!" He's a busy boy and with his mom a little too much some days!

lol that's funny hunter says that, but i bet that gets annoying when u ask him to do something. Emery's hair looks horrible at the boat show! I can't believe u took her out in public like that. I love the valentines day box, apparently NO ONE in arizona made them when they were kids. Weird!?! 8 weeks is pretty soon! Two weeks after that i'll be home! :) what did ben's bear say? Love the update. And i busted up when the kids started complaining about shopping when u went underground. haaha, i literally laughed outloud at ur target comment.
